A saturated, volatile fraction of petroleum boiling in the range of 60 – 100 °C. There is a special grade of ligroin known as petroleum benzine. Highly flammable, dangerous fire risk. Toxic by ingestion and inhalation. Used as a solvent for resins, paints, varnishes, etc.
