The tubular backbone makes the booms immensely strong, designed to take loads in excess of 50 tons. The design of the Security Booms is available with rotating steel spikes to discourage boats from trying to get over the booms by jumping through one of the gaps between the oats. They are available with patented latching system that allows the booms to be opened and closed automatically.
